Jill is a member of the Career Development staff. Jill supports the career success of Gustavus students and alumni through developing career-related activities and educational materials, providing individual appointments and group presentations, and connecting students to career resources and services.

Jill lives here in St. Peter with her partner (Mark ’09), sons (Cormac, Rigel, and Wendel), and dog (Teddy). In her spare time, she gets outdoors as much as possible and enjoys reading, baking, dancing, playing games, watching television/movies, and hanging out with her family & friends.

Hector Aguilar
Assistant Director for Outcomes and Strategic Initiatives
Hector Aguilar joined Gustavus in July 2023. Previously, he was an Assistant Director for Career Development & Coaching at St. Olaf College. Hector worked with a variety of students interested in business. He also served as club advisor to the Management Consulting Club and Actuary Club and helped form a Marketing Association for students. During the association’s first year, they participated in and won the American Marketing Association’s (Minnesota Chapter) case competition. Hector also worked closely with several of St. Olaf’s sports teams as a liaison between athletics and the career center. Before St. Olaf, Hector worked at Indiana University Kokomo as the Assistant Director of Facilities Management. In this role, he collaborated with multiple departments on IU-wide projects, served on several campus committees, and assisted admissions with recruitment. With over seven years of leadership experience in higher education, Hector is excited to be a part of and learn from the Gustavus community!
Hector has a B.A. from DePauw University in Black Studies and a Master of Public Management from Indiana University Kokomo. He is originally from El Paso, Texas, and welcomes conversation in English or Spanish and questions about his beloved border community. He currently resides in St. Peter with his family. You might catch him attending various athletics on campus. During his free time, he loves rooting on his kids playing soccer, playing footie (soccer) himself, running around town, and enjoying good food! Aside from his family, his great love is Liverpool FC, and he is happy to talk soccer with anyone who is interested.
Fun fact: He named his son after one of his favorite Liverpool footballers, a legendary Spanish player who dominated for Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich!

Cynthia Favre
Director of Vocation and Career Readiness Programs
Since 1989 Cynthia Favre has helped Gusties to name their gifts and talents and find places to use them in the world. She has a Master of Science in Counseling and Student Personnel from Minnesota State University-Mankato and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota, Morris with a Sociology major.
Cynthia supports the career success of Gustavus students and alumni through developing career-related activities and educational materials, providing individual appointments and group presentations, and connecting students to career resources and opportunities.
Cynthia focuses on: assisting students in selecting academic majors , teaching Career Readiness (second half of fall and spring semesters) and Design Your Future (January Terms). She is very interested in helping students to gain career-related experiences while in college.

Heather Banks
Senior Health Professions Specialist
Heather Banks serves as the advisor for students interested in entering into the health professions: medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and others. Heather has been working at Gustavus in the Office of Health Professions with in the Center for Career Development since 2004, she has had a variety of career roles, but has developed a special interest in health and health careers. She truly enjoys working with students interested in the health professions and helping them explore the different possibilities. Heather believes there is something in the health field for everyone…even if you hate blood and/or needles!
Heather and her husband, Aaron, live in Saint Peter. They have two boys that keep them very busy. Heather enjoys spending time with family and friends, being active, watching sports (especially basketball), and cheering for the Oregon Ducks.

Heidi Selzler-Bahr
Health Professions Specialist
Heidi Selzler-Bahr is a Harvey, North Dakota native. Heidi received her bachelor of science degree from North Dakota State University. Her career path then led her to the Mankato area, where she completed a master’s degree in Experiential Education at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She spent several years working for Sanford Health as a Health and Wellness Coach and Manager. Heidi is now starting her 3rd school year here at Gustavus Adolphus College. She enjoys anything outdoors with family and friends: hiking, boating, camping, biking, and skiing. She also loves to travel and has many places on her bucket list to visit. Heidi resides in St. Peter with her two daughters, Cadence and Liv.
