Welcome to Gustavus Adolphus College’s Student Stories Series!
Boston Career Forum Attendee
Major: Business Management
What was/is your career opportunity/experience (i.e. internship, shadowing experience, research)?
I was able to attendee the Boston Career Forum for specific for undergraduate students who are Japanese.
How did you get the opportunity/experience? What steps did you take to achieve this?
I started preparing for this career fair since July 2025. I sent bunch of applications and did over 10 interviews remotely. Those companies that liked me based on the interviews talked to me in person in Boston, and they could give me a full time job offer right after the interviews in Boston.
Tell us more about your accomplishment (include title, role, location, program, etc.)
It is a career fair that is held in Boston for college students who are Japanese. There will be over 200 companies from Japan and you can have as many interviews as you want. This is one of the biggest opportunities for the Japanese students in the US since we have less opportunities of having interviews in Japan.
Who were some of the people who helped you most at Gustavus to get this opportunity? What did you learn from them?
Professor Peter Stark. He helped me with how I should talk to the companies.
How did the Engaged Learning Funds help you be able to complete this experience?
It allowed me to have the funds to stay at the conference.
