How did you get the opportunity/experience? What steps did you take to achieve this?

After applying for the postion I went through the interview process and was selected as the intern.

Who were some of the people who helped you most at Gustavus to get this opportunity? What did you learn from them?

My professors helped me write a resume and assisted with interview prepraration. Also, learning the basic concepts needed to have an full understanding to best help my athletes.

How did the Engaged Learning Funds help you be able to complete this experience?

The Engaged Learning Fund helped cover gas and living expenses so I could continue with this experience.

Anything else you want to share about your experience?

It was a valuable experience for me as I deepened my understanding of the field of Strength and Conditioning and was able to earn an internship for the next summer at the U of M.

How have you applied things you’ve learned here at Gustavus to this opportunity? (i.e., Career & Self Development, Communication, Critical Thinking, Equity & Inclusion, Leadership, Professionalism, Teamwork, Technology)

Equity and inclusion helped me better communicate with athletes of different backgrounds. I have also had to think critically to solve problems and take the lead to lead sessions.
